Wollenhaupt at BIOFACH 2020
Organic Tea – a Trend with a Future and Great Potential
In view of this, we are delighted to have the opportunity to present our expertise in organic products at Biofach 2020, the world's leading trade fair for organic foods, held in Nuremberg, Germany.
Wollenhaupt: Strong Focus on Organic Products and Sustainability
For many years now, we have been focusing on sustainable, certified organic products when selecting our raw ingredients, and we work very closely with our partners in the countries of origin right from the start.
We purchase our teas from 25 countries and have longstanding partnerships with many suppliers. Through sourcing by our own employees in China, our partnership with Maruyama Tea Products Corporation, a renowned Japanese tea producer, and our cooperation with Mozambique-based producer Cha de Magoma, we can find the best tea qualities in these markets. With this approach, we can optimally cater to our customers’ demand for certified, organically grown tea products from these as well as many other countries of origin. This is a particularly important advantage given that the availability of some certified organic qualities is very limited.
These close partnerships let us ensure that all important social and environmental aspects are taken into consideration in the best possible way.
For us, a family-run company now in the 4th generation, sustainable business is a matter of course. The classic certifications held by our suppliers serve as objective quality criteria and play an important role at Wollenhaupt.
Our Tea Trading division is a member of the “Ethical Tea Partnership” global initiative. In addition, we offer a wide range of certified products aligned with various programmes and organisations dedicated to the goal of sustainability, including organic certifications, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance/UTZ, Naturland and others.

Our Organic Quality Teas – From Classic to Flavoured
Our product portfolio comprises all cut sizes and leaf grades, both classic as well as flavoured teas.
The business of trading in classic teas from all growing regions in the world has always been one of Wollenhaupt’s core competencies. Benefit from our extensive expert knowledge and the wide variety of organic quality teas in our product portfolio.
We are excited about presenting our partner, Cha de Magoma, a pioneer in growing and cultivating organic tea in Mozambique, at our booth – with interesting CTC qualities, orthodox leaf teas and broken teas.
Moreover, our Japan-based production partner, Maruyama, will be enhancing our booth at Biofach with exclusive Japanese organic teas and presenting its range of Matcha, green tea and exquisite specialities.
Fruit Melanges, Herbal Infusions and Spice Blends

We are committed to consistently expanding our range of organic products in the herbal infusion, fruit melange and spice blend segments as well. Of the more than 700 herbs, fruits and spices we use, about a quarter of them are already certified organic, with the assortment growing steadily.
Overview of Our Organic Tea Range
Our current catalogue already contains more than 80 organic teas. Naturally, we also develop customised organic quality blends in all cut sizes.
We offer private label customers individual packaging concepts tailored to their requirements. Our packaging options range from pyramid-shaped bags to packaging in flat-base bags with customised designs – also available in sustainable materials as well, of course.
