Yesterday, we planted 2,000 red oaks at a fantastic employee event near Buchholz in der Nordheide! We were joined by colleagues from the plant and administration, who contributed to laying the foundation stone for a new deciduous forest with a great deal of commitment and good humour. We were expertly guided by the district forester and Lars from Aktion Baum - a non-profit organisation.
A great success!
Our employees were delighted with what we achieved together. It was not only a special day full of team spirit, but also a sensible investment in the future. And we are excited: In 3-4 years' time, we will look at how our forest has developed and what we have created together for nature.
Why are we doing this?
The idea came about when we were able to save 700,000 pages of paper by digitising our catalogue. We also wanted to invest in climate protection and actively participate in a planting campaign with ‘Aktion Baum’. This organisation is committed to sustainable reforestation in order to create forests that bind CO₂ and promote habitats for biodiversity.
