By purchasing these organic qualities, we want to support this positive development. Our tea purchaser Sarah Baddah discovered an excellent green tea in organic quality during her trip to Vietnam, which we have added to our green tea assortment. The Shan variety is characterised by an especially large aromatic leaf. The tea comes from the Lao Cai Province in northwest Vietnam, 360 km from Hanoi. This region is situated at an altitude of about 900 m and is shaped by mountain landscapes and vast forests that are home to rare plants and animals.
We asked Sarah what she feels is so special about this plantation
and why she chose this tea for our assortment:
“This plantation really impressed me. The very professional and hospitable
plantation owners showed me how intensively they work to produce
a tea of the highest organic quality. The requirements for organic
standards are rigorous and often hard to meet financially. I was very
impressed by the strong determination and the willingness to tackle
these challenges, some of which are difficult to overcome in Vietnam. In
the end, however, it was the exquisite taste of this delicious green tea
