This is due to consumers' increasing health awareness and desire for natural, plant-based ingredients. Particularly popular are botanical teas and beverages that combine health benefits with sustainable "clean label" ingredients.
The figures show that this market is dynamic, forward-looking and attracting more and more health-conscious consumers.
What exactly are botanicals?
Botanicals are plant-based ingredients that are valued for their beneficial effects. For centuries, cultures around the world have been harnessing the power of nature – in medicine, in cooking and for wellness applications. Not only do they add flavour and aroma, they can also offer a wide range of health benefits.
For our tea blends, we specifically select herbs, flowers and spices that combine enjoyment and well-being. Here is a selection:
| Botanical | Description & nutrients |
|---|---|
| Chamomile | Known for its calming effect – ideal for relaxing after a hectic day. Its gentle, floral taste and digestive properties make it a classic. It contains small amounts of magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and vitamins B1 and B2. |
| Hibiscus | With its bright red colour and slightly tart flavour, hibiscus is not only refreshing but also rich in antioxidants. It helps regulate blood pressure and provides plenty of vitamin C, which strengthens the immune system. |
| Ginger | Aids digestion and helps combat nausea. Its pungent, warm flavour provides energy and freshness. It provides magnesium, iron, potassium and vitamin C. |
| Lavender | The floral aroma of lavender has a calming effect on the body and mind – especially beneficial in the evening. Lavender tea can improve sleep quality and contains vitamin A, iron and calcium. |
| Rooibos | Originating from South Africa, rooibos is a caffeine-free herb with a high antioxidant content. Its sweet, earthy flavour makes it a popular base for teas. It contains vitamin C, iron, calcium, magnesium, fluoride and copper. |
| Sage | Has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. It can support memory and help with sore throats. It contains magnesium, zinc and vitamins A, C and B6. |
| Marigold flowers | Calendula is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It supports skin healing and gives tea a beautiful colour. It is rich in vitamin C, iron, zinc and magnesium. |
| Mallow flowers | Have a soothing and expectorant effect – ideal for coughs and colds. They contain vitamin C as well as zinc, magnesium and iron. |
What are the benefits of botanical teas?
Botanical teas are not only a treat for the palate, but can also promote well-being in a natural way. Certain plants such as lavender or chamomile have a calming effect and help to reduce stress and calm the body and mind. Other ingredients such as ginger or mint aid digestion and can gently relieve stomach complaints. Plants such as hibiscus are rich in antioxidants and thus naturally strengthen the immune system. Overall, botanical teas provide a valuable combination of vitamins, minerals and herbal active ingredients that contribute to a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

To prevent minerals and vitamins from leaching out, we use a specially developed granulate structure.
